Vidraru dam

Vidraru dam arrests one of the 38 accumulation lakes along Arges River, the Vidraru Lake being the most important of them, with a length of 12 km. The dam was commissioned in 1965 and it was ranked as the 5th in Europe at that time. Vidraru dam marks one of the key points of Transfagarasan. With a height of 166 m and a length of 305 m, the dam is carefully watched over by Prometheus the "Iron Man".
