Badea Cartan Museum

Who was Badea Cartan? A Romanian shepherd who entered history because all his life he fought for the unification of Romanians and for the spreading of the Romanian language books in the Austro-Hungarian Transylvania. He travelled to Bucharest over 170 times. He went to Rome on foot in 1896 and slept next to the Traian's Column and the next day the newspapers published: "a Dacian descended from the column". Badea Cartan Museum is situated in the village Cartisoara, at the descending from Transfagarasan. It is a museum that shows us the life style and manner of this simple and true Romanian man.
