Prislop Pass

Prislop Pass is the highest pass in the Eastern Carpathians, at 1416 m altitude and it connects the Maramures Depression to Golden Bistrita Valley. The pass lies between Rodnei Mountains and Maramures Mountains. Every late August on the first Sunday after the Assumption of the Virgin Mary an old folk festival called "Hora de la Prislop" is held. In the zone there are found the Setref Pass (between Rodnei Mountains and Tiblei Mountains) and Rotunda Pass (between Rodnei Mountains and Suhard Mountains).
