Rosia Montana

Rosia Montana is a mining village in the Apuseni Mountains, located on the Red Valley, crossed by the Rosia River valley. The richness of the area consists of gold and metal deposits whose exploitation dates back to thousands of years. Rosia River is also rich in minerals, especially iron, this being the reason why it has a reddish colour, this also being the origin of the commune name. During our visit in the commune we shall enter the Roman mining galleries of over 2.000 years old.
